[F.G.Schumacher, Gallery of Photographic Art, 107 North Spring Street, Los Angeles, Cal.] James A. Foshay came to Monrovia to teach in 1888, and became principal that year, and remained until 1893 when he became deputy superintendent of schools in Los Angeles ( Wiley, p 143-144)
