Fashionable morning & evening dresses for January, 1821. Two images. Left: Light brown ankle length dress. High collar with ruffled chemise underneath. Tippet over shoulders. Long sleeves gathered at cuff. Sash tied in back at empire waistline. Ruffled hemline. Accessories include white and purple cap, yellow gloves, and a pink reticule. Right: Blue and white floor length dress. Square ruffled neckline with short blue cap sleeves. Empire waistline. Blue double border at hem. Accessories include floral headpiece, earrings, necklaces, long white evening gloves, folded fan and a purple shawl.
