Description
Western Hotel: Demolished when Interstate 5 was built in Sacramento. Formerly located 200 ft. NE of intersection of 2nd and K Sts. Constructed by William Land in 1875, the Western Hotel was one of the largest in the West. The structure was erected at cost of $200,000 with 350 nicely furnished rooms and ample accommodations for 500 guests. Business located on first floor of hotel include: Western Barbershop, Bee Coffee Shop, Oscar's No. 3, Center Restaurant.
