Description
Dr. Mimi Guarneri discusses her book, “The Heart Speaks.” She begins by explaining that she is a cardiologist that wanted to tell the story of her patients. She advises that the most important thing doctors can do is to listen to their patients and pay more attention to their overall health. She talks about moving to La Jolla from New York, and ending up staying in southern California. She discusses the reasons some doctors believe in a higher power and miracles. She talks about alternative medicines such as acupuncture, psychics, and intermediaries. She ends the interview by describing how she started an integrated medicine program at Scripps Medical Center to teach patients how to manage a healthy lifestyle.
