Photograph caption reads: "Wounded pigeon with rescuer Max Tapia, 13". "Max Tapia, 13, and the wounded pigeon which was shot by a drive by gang shoting [sic] last night at Boyle Heights. Tapia found the pigeon's blood and tracked the bird down and then took it to the vet in Saturday afternoon". Photograph dated: Oct. 8, 1989.
