Description: Adding to his honors, the Dodgers' Orel Hershiser picked up Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year vase yesterday. "For me to win this award, when you compare it to all sports people, it's very, very humbling." said the Cy Young winner and World Series MVP. "I thought one of the Olympic athletes would win it. This award meant to me that you've surpassed your own sport." Photo dated: December 14, 1988.
