Description
Connie and Paul begin the interview discussing Paul’s feelings of rage regarding the AIDS crisis and how his grieving was triggered by the American government’s and society’s perception of homosexuals. They then move on to discuss characters in the book who are struggling with AIDS. Connie and Paul proceed to talk about the homosexual world and how it differs from the mainstream heterosexual world, and the process of outing, before returning to the book’s characters and narrative. They then discuss how much of the book reflects Paul’s personal life as a homosexual man dying of AIDS and observing those closest to him experiencing the same process, and Connie has Paul read an excerpt from the book. Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
