Description
Connie, Paula, and Felix begin the interview discussing the Rodney King riots and the impact of that event on the writing of the book, and how self-love and self-healing are needed in order to move forward in one’s life. They consider a range of African-American issues, and the issue of passing, before moving on to discuss the impact of slavery on the African-American family, and the affirmation of love in the book. Both Paula and Felix read several passages from the book, and Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
