Photograph caption dated July 26, 1928 reads, "In an effort to obtain his release from the city jail, Dominick De Soto (aka Domenico Di Ciolla), alleged gangster, whom police believe to be the leader of the north side racketeers, was to file a writ of habeas corpus today along with three other suspects.
