Description
Don Lehman served in the Vietnam War from May 1968 until June of 1970. Although he joined the Navy Reserves, he was drafted into the military. Don served in the First Infantry Division as a radio relay and carrier operator, a position he chose which prevented him from serving in the general infantry but guaranteed his service in Vietnam. He served with both A Company and C Company, which were stationed just north of Saigon. Don considers his time in the war as a learning experience and is grateful that his position only exposed him to one firefight. Upon returning Don attended college and graduated in 1976. He then worked in the motion picture industry as a gaffer. He is now retired and is a member of the Anacapa Yacht Club. He lives in Oxnard, California and enjoys sailing on most of his free time.
