Sponsored by the United Church Women's organizations, which is composed of women from the major Protestant and Orthodox communions, the call to prayer is heard around the world annually on the first Friday of Lent. Prayer services will begin in the Pacific Islands and move westward with the passing hours until the final gathering disperses in Alaska. This year's theme is 'Let Us Pray.' The Burbank Council will gather at 9:30 a.m. at the First Methodist Church of Burbank, 700 N. Glenoaks Blvd. Mrs. Charles B. Curry is chairman of the day.
