Photo looks east across the lake at Westlake Park. Dotted lines show where Wilshire Blvd. extension will curve across north side of lake. Caption reads, "Work is being rushed today on the task of clearing away tall palm trees and shrubbery in Westlake Park to make way around the lake for construction of the Wilshire Boulevard extension to provide a highway linking Los Angeles' downtown district to the sea. Following the recent order of the state supreme court lifting an injunction against the project, the work has been resumed. Photo looking east across the park shows a construction scene. Dotted line indicates route the boulevard will take on a dirt fill aruond the lake and join Wilshire at Alvarado.
