Firefighters are shown on McCadden Place, just south of Hollywood Boulevard attending to a fire on July 18, 1973. The building on the left is part of the Egyptian Theatre. The building on the right, with the ornate arched window, had previously housed the kitchen and a private dining room for the former Pig’N Whistle restaurant. At the time of the fire, the retail shop London Britches was occupying the former restaurant storefront, and the former kitchen/dining room was being used as a phonographic record warehouse. The fire primarily impacted the warehouse and resulted in such severe damage to that building, that it was demolished the following year.
