The giant sequoia named the General Grant Tree beside a log cabin and surrounded by other trees. The photograph is a sepia image with a yellow border.
Printed on recto: Big trees, Mariposa grove; Tree General Grant and cabin. The General Grant Tree, named after Ulysses S. Grant, is the largest giant sequoia in Kings Canyon National Park. President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed it the 'Nation's Christmas Tree' in April 28, 1926. It is estimated to be over 1600 years old and the 2nd largest tree in the world. This image has a yellow border and is mounted on a gray card.
