Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on June 19, 1969 states "A private auto bridge at the Tahoe City Lumber Co. about a half mile downstream from the outlet gates of Lake Tahoe on the Truckee River floated off its supports and drifted downstream in one piece at 4:34 p.m. yesterday. It was stopped a short distance away by heavy brush that normally is on the banks of the river but now is partially covered. The outflow of water when the bridge gave way was 2,400 cubic feet per second. Other pictures on pages A1, C1. Story on page C1."
