San Fernando Valley State College is now California State University, Northridge. Photograph caption dated October 28, 1961 partially reads "Hay rides are in season now that Valley evenings are nippy. Students at Valley State College in Northridge tried out a hayrack for size last week and found that two couples had to ride in the tail gate. They are Jim Edwards, 15118 Tuba St., Sepulveda; Sue Merrill, 15446 Lull St., Van Nuys; Dee Vitale, 8645 Wakefield Ave., Panorama City, and Neal East, Westchester."
