Wood mandolin. Body is tear drop shaped and rounded in back. Front/soundboard is blonde wood with decorative inlay around edges. Sound hole is oval-shaped and surrounded by decorative inlay. There is a tortoise shell pattern pick guard and a black bridge. Strings are attached with metal piece that has decorative engraving. Pick is set in strings. Back of body is pieced together with fifteen pieces of wood. Neck is black with mother of pearl decorative inlay of four shapes. Head is flat with pegs extending on either side. On the back of the neck is a metal plate engraved with the word "WASHBURN".
