Photograph caption dated November 12, 1956 reads "PTA's Blood Bank is dangerously low and many executive board members will donate blood tomorrow on 'D Day,' or 'District Day,' 3 to 7:30 p.m., at Van Nuys Junior High School. Mrs. Delmar Rush has made her contribution and is accepting usual hot coffee from Mrs. Harper Lowe, canteen volunteer. Standing is Mrs. John Hoyt, district Red Cross chairman, and seated, Mrs. Stanley Gulliver, district first vice president."
