Description
Used in the Exhibit: Play by Play - A Century of L.A. Sports Photography, 1889-1989
Hall of Famer Duke Snider (far right), with (from left) Ron Fairly and Wally Moon. As the Brooklyn Dodgers center-fielder, Snider was overshadowed by the Giants' Willie Mays and the Yankees' Mickey Mantle. In L.A., Snider was welcomed back with enthusiasm; the Compton High grad, who slugged the final home run at Ebbets Field, collected the first hit at Dodger Stadium. Photo dated: March 12, 1962.
