Photograph of U.S. Air Force F-104 Starfighter jet in flight, ca.1960. At center, a large U.S. Air Force Jet is visible in flight in an empty sky. The body of the plane is nearly cylindrical, except for the pointed beak. Also, a long rod can be seen extending from the tip of the beak of the plane. The glass-covered cockpit can be seen slightly to the right of the beak. Two pilots are visible flying the aircraft. On the side of the jet, a hollow half-dome protrudes from the body's exterior with a pointed cylinder found on the inside. Near the back of the jet, the tail can be seen with a small pair of wings extending from the top. A large jet engine is visible behind the tail attached to the body.
