Description
Peggy Sinskey holds the door open to her family's underground bomb shelter set in the middle of a paved area used as a playground. Note the tricycle in the background. Photo caption reads: "Mrs. Peggy Sinskey of Pacific Palisades is going into her family shelter. Civil Defense officials say the lassitude of the public has been so bad that no many have even thought of private shelters". Photo dated: Aug. 2, 1961.
