Description
Diathermy, or physio-therapy, machine believed to have been manufactured by E. J. Rose, of Los Angeles, California around 1910. (Serial no. 2100) A drawer holds electrodes and cables. Used in hospitals and nursing homes (this model is light enough to be carried to a patients home), the diathermy machine used radio-frequency currents to heat tissue, supposely helping organs and other tissue adjacent to the heated skin.
