Description
Sara Oxman, Ruth Gage, and Joanne Gibbs, employees of the Herald-Express circulation department, work at telephone switchboard to keep up with incoming subscription orders. Thousands of orders pour in as a result of the low $1.50 monthly home subscription rate. The Herald-Express, dated back to around 1871. In 1962 it would merged with the morning Examiner, founded in 1903 to become the Herald Examiner. Photo dated: February 11, 1954.
