Photograph used for an article dated March 19, 1955. The town of Sierra Madre was never eager to grow quickly, nor was it industry-minded. A long time ago it had a fruit drying plant (pictured) and a cigar factory. Later on there was a machine shop and several ceramic art factories in the area.
