Description
Uniformed firefighters stand in front of remodeled Fire Station No. 1, soon after opening. Rather than rebuild on the site of the old Station No. 1, Long Beach bought existing building and adapted it to firehouse use. Building was Donner's Bakery & Cafe on the lower floor, and a sign at top of building showed its use as the Knights of Pythias Hall. Station located at 3rd Street and Pacific Avenue.
