Description
Photograph of a De Soto taxi cab owned by the Yellow Cab Company parked on a Los Angeles street, 1940-1950. The large automobile is at center and is facing to the right. It has a two-tone paint job and "suicide doors". A sign on the roof indicates it is a taxi, and a large skylight can be seen over the back seat. Large amounts of chrome decorate the body of the car. The car is a 1946, 47, or 48 model and bears the number 604 on the door and the inscription "Madison 1234" on the hood. In the background is a two-story building with large rectangular windows. A sign at left identifies the building as the Chateau Beachwood.
