Description
Image shows full-length portrait of Les Henry (1883-1960), secretary and treasurer of the Palos Verdes Golf Club, standing with his golf club on the golf course, wearing a tie, pull-over sweater and plus-fours. Mr. Henry, an investment broker and president of the California division of the American Athletic Untion, was instrumental in helping bring the 1932 Olympics to Los Angeles. The Palos Verdes golf course is visible in background. The two-story, eleven-room Spanish-style clubhouse, located at 3301 Via Campesina in Val Monte, opened November 15, 1924. Landscape design was done by the Olmsted brothers.
