Description
The third floor solarium of Mercy Hospital (4001 J Street) is pictured in this circa 1928 photo. The room was placed just above the building’s main entrance, with its windows looking directly south. Visible in the room is a statuette of Jesus Christ and several pieces of furniture, including morris and wicker chairs. The general style concept of the building’s interior sought to sooth patients and visitors and called for softer colors with grey and tan predominating.
