Take a trip back in time. It's December, 1949 in Sebastopol. Picture every child, every grade school and high school, visit local clubs an churches, and meet city employees. You'll go downtown, shopping, to a dinner/dance and a movie! You'll see hundreds of faces, maybe your own, if you were here. Or Just experience what life was like for the folks in Sebastopol in 1949. This treasure, rediscovered from the archives of the Sebastopol Chomber of Commerce in 1991, is available for you to share in this special stroll down memory lane. In order of appearance are: Analy Movie Theater marquee; old Chamber of Commerce; train down Main Street; VFW; City Hall (Mayor; John Spooner, Don Daveiro, former Police Chief: Ed Foster, Al Schmidt, Archie Butler, City Clerk: Amelia Kidwell, Press Democrat correspondent: Emily Fraser); Police Department (Police Chief: John Elis, Jack Pilgrim, Bill Lawrence, Ed Major); Fire Department and New Fire Truck (Fire Chief: Bill Edman, Glen Mehlel, Babe Spoonser, Otto Major); Rotary Club (President: Dr. Chet Marsh, Lou Hart, Ben Burdo, Eyra Briggs, Neal Green, Ed Trigeiro, Larry Duffield, Don Hallberg, D. H. Fauts); Sebastopol Times (Harlan Hoyt); Boy Scouts Troop #28 (Albert Paressle.
