Image of a firefighter's exempt membership certificate from the Deposit Fire Department of Deposit, New York, made out in manuscript to W. H. Conron and dated August 5, 1907, with a lower vignette of firefighters fighting a fire in a burning building with manual fire engines, hoses, ladders, fire hydrants, shovels, and a fireman on a ladder with a speaking trumpet, and a top vignette of the ruins of a wooden building with spectators on the wooden sidewalk before it; the certificate is bordered with American flags, rope, and preventers. Date span based on dates in item text. "G.H. Dunston, Lith, Buffalo, N.Y."--text, bottom center margin. "Organized July 13th 1885. This is to certify that W. H. Conron is an exempt member of the Deposit Fire Department of Deposit, New York by reason of five years services as an active Member thereof John Page Chief Enginer [sic] Deposit N.Y. Aug 5th 1907 B.E. Loder Sec'y. A. Seymour Wickwire Pres't."--text of certificate, printed and handwritten.
