Description
Jury selection begins for the trial of D.A. Buron Fitts on criminal perjury charges. Fitts and members of the prosecution and defense are shown in the courtroom in this photograph. Fitts is begin tried on an indictment returned by the 1934 grand jury in connection with the investigation of the 1931 "Hollywood love mart" case. Visible are Judge Pat Parker; Defense Attorney Jerry Giesler at front; Special Prosecutor Clyde C. Shoemaker at his left; Investigator L.H. Lashbrook facing the Judge; Special Prosecutor W.O. Gordon facing the jury, and at back, Defense Attorney W.E. Simpson to the left of D.A. Buron Fitts. Photograph dated January 17, 1936.
