Photograph caption dated October 12, 1957 reads "Lightning illuminates night sky over San Fernando neighborhood at Bleeker street and Buckeye avenue during weekend storm which dumped nearly half-inch of rain on Valley and two inches of snow in nearby mountain resorts. Using three-minute time exposure at full opening, photographer captured three lightning flashes."
