Description
Scrapbook/photo album created by the San Jose Exchange Club to document its Fifth Annual Sunshine Special for underprivileged children of San Jose. The 1953 event was held June 6, at Camp Campbell in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The kids were assembled in St. James Park and left town in a caravan escorted by San Jose Police. Children were selected from Eastfield Home through Santa Clara County Welfare Department. One of 15 scrapbooks created by the Exchange Club of San Jose documenting the organization's community service projects in the 1950s.
