Title transcribed from item. Signed on mount: "Frederick Monsen." Monsen's typed label on back says: "Watching the Snake Race at Oraibi. The day before the public ceremony of the Snake Dance, a five mile foot race is celebrated in which a number of the best runners among the Hopi take part. It is a great event among the Indians."
