Photograph caption dated February 29, 1988 reads, "About 1,500 march in demonstration yesterday at Los Angeles City College. Demonstrators of Armenian descent chanted in Armenian and waved signs calling for the re-establishment of their nation. The event was organized by the Armenian Apostolic Church to express solidarity with Armenians that have been persecuted in the Soviet Union."
