Description
A streetcar travels down Pennsylvania Avenue near First Street, N.W., just outside the West Front of the U.S. Capitol and Capitol grounds in Washington D.C. The 44-foot-high Peace Monument, present in the center of the image, is made of white marble and was erected in 1877-1878 to commemorate the naval deaths at sea during the Civil War.
