ff. 1-126v: [Book of Hours]: ff. 2-13v: Calendar in French; ff. 14-48v, 53-73v: [misbound] Hours of the Virgin, use of Rouen with suffrages after lauds of the Holy Spirit, John the Baptist, Peter and Paul, Lawrence, Nicholas (ends on f. 69), Catherine of Alexandria (on f. 69); ff. 49-52v: Pericopes of the Gospels, missing some leaves; ff. 74-91v: Penitential psalms and litany; ff. 92-124v: Office of the Dead, use of Rouen; ff. 124v-125v: Suffrages of Peter and of James the Greater. f. 126r-v, blank. Book of Hours, use of Rouen, written in France, probably in Rouen, in the second half of the fifteenth century. Span folios: ff. 1-126v. Support: Parchment. Layout: Collation beginning with f. 2, 1¹² 2-5⁸ 6²(+1 at the beginning; ff. 46-48) 7⁸(-1, 3, 5, 8; ff. 49-52) 8⁸(-1, 8; ff. 53-58; f. 53 misbound, should follow f. 58) 9¹⁰(-1, 4, 7; ff. 59-65) 10⁶(+4, f. 69 misbound, should follow f. 48; +8, f. 73) 11-12⁸ 13²(ff. 90-91) 14-17⁸ 18²(+3, f. 126). Ruled space, 68 x 50 mm; 14 long lines, ruled in pale red ink; pricking occasionally remains in the upper margin. Written in a gothic book hand, in two sizes according to liturgical function. Decoration: Seven large miniatures, somewhat rubbed, above 3 lines of text in arched compartments with serrated tops; borders of acanthus leaves, flowers and grotesques against a flat painted gold ground. 3-line initials in 3 styles: in white-patterned blue against burnished gold ground with multicolored trilobe leaves in the infilling; or as shaded white leaves against a painted gold ground and infilling of a flower; or in blue on a red ground, decorated with painted gold. 2-line initials in shaded white against a painted gold ground; 1-line initials in painted gold on alternating red or blue grounds; ribbon line fillers in these colors also; initials within the text washed in yellow.
