The opening of 100 trailer homes to families of veterans and others in a move to relieve the critical housing shortage in Los Angeles was announced November 9, 1945 by the city's Housing Authority. Shown are some of the trailers, located in the 2200 block on East 7th Street. The trailers, built for workers of an aluminum plant, were never used.
