Description
"Official US Navy photograph" of the USS Sacramento at sail in Hawaiian waters off Oahu. Aerial view. She was the first of the US Navy's Fast Combat Support Ships and was designed to transfer cargo at sea to her customers while making high speeds. Built at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA, she was commissioned on March 14, 1964. She is 792' long, 107' wide, weighs 53,500 tons, and is manned by 500 Officers and crew.
