Photograph of Alexander Richard Heron, acting president of the San Jose State Teachers College from July–September 1923.
Canadian-born Alexander Richard Heron received a B.S. degree from Southwestern University in Los Angeles. During his brief stint, summer enrollment reached a record high of 620. Later, during WWII, he was appointed colonel and served as head of the civilian branch of the army’s supply services in Washington, D.C. http://www.sjsu.edu/about_sjsu/history/presidents/
