Description
Trotting his way down Fifteenth Street in this circa 1940 photograph is Sacramento County Sheriff Don Cox. After having worked his way up from department bookkeeper, the Indiana-born Cox served as Sheriff from 1932 to 1961. He died in 1983. In the background are period automobiles and the west flank of the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.
