Photograph of Los Angeles Civic Center looking north-east from Olive and First streets toward the west face of the City Hall, showing Bunker Hill at left, ca.1940-1949. The tree-spotted Bunker Hill stands in the left foreground with a full parking lot at its foot the lot is located on the north-east corner of the intersection of Hill Street and First Street. Temple Street lies on the right continuing to the background. The tall Civic Center stands behind the hill and to the left of the street with its tall tower at center. The large building to the right of the City Hall is the old California State Building. The old Hall of Records can be seen to the left of the City Hall. More of the cityscape can be seen in the background.
