Description
Photograph of the peristyle end of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during the four by one hundred relay at the Olympics, 1932. The long series of archways is at center, and in the middle is a tall rectangular section topped by a torch for the Olympic flame. A row of flags and banners runs along the archways. Near the top of the rectangular section is a scoreboard. The bleachers at right are crowded with people, and the other bleachers are beginning to fill up with newcomers. The scoreboard reads "4 x 1000 Relay Men Final U.S.A. Germany Italy Time 40s".
