Description
General view of central pumping station at the Alfred L. Brown orchards. The lime-sulpher barrels are emptied into a vat in the ground and the solution is pumped into the mixing tank on platform. The fire-box shown at left of picture contains coils for heating the water used in the preparation of oil sprays. Hot water gives a much better emulsion than cold.
