Description
"New Year Caller. Chung-king. Residence at Dzen Jah Nqai. Callers at Mrs. Manly's house in Chungking. A sample audience for a Bible woman to address. Note the children. Probably 1899 or 1900." Women and children are shown seated on the steps and porch wall of a brick building. All are dressed in heavy coats and pants. One child is barefoot.
