Photograph of an exterior view of San Diego's Hotel Del Coronado from the ocean, ca.1888. The massive hotel is at center and is built very close to the beach. It is four stories high and a massive conical tower is visible on the end of the building at right. Large vertical rectangular windows run along the perimeter of the building, and countless chimneys protrude from the rood. A small sailboat is visible in the calm water of the foreground, and a man is pulling a small dinghy towards a larger boat at left.
