Photograph of a document entitled "Consta el Libro" regarding a mission inventory, written by Father Juan Crespi and signed by Padre Juan Crespi, ca.1900. The document is written in extravagant Spanish calligraphy. The page is attached to the material behind it by a thin nail at top. Part of the next page can be seen on the far right. The binding is stained in the top left corner.
"Consta el libro de dosientas y trece ojas utiles adnoradas con sus numeros sin la primera y ultima que quedan en blanco y para que a si conste, a si lo certifico, y lo firme. Fr. Juan Crespi." [New paragraph] "Reipeto a que ese libro por disposicion de nuestro preladose lo destino para las patente, y demos escritos que recibimos los prelados de la orden : se contaron y trasladaron las ojas del inventario varia distribuciones y se colocaron cerca del principio empezando con el numero 8
y las respuetan ojas blancas amancadas [?] se colocaran en el lugar donde se contaron los primeros como lo indican las borrador de los numeros viejos. Ministro de dicha mision. Fr. Juan Amore." -- transcription.
Padre Crespi accompanied Governor Portola on the trip north when the Bay of San Francisco was discovered.
