Description
Cityscape view of Edinburgh showing the Mound and Princes Street Gardens with the Scott Monument, Waverly station and the National Gallery. This photograph is included in an album detailing events at the Chogoria mission probably because Geoffrey Irvine studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh and the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland is situated on the Mound. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1947-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established near Mt Kenya, in 1922, and run by Dr Irvine.
