Louise Taber was born in 1884 in Oakland to Isaiah West and Annie Taber. Worked beginning in 1915 for the Examiner and, later, the Chronicle writing sketches of early San Francisco. In 1930’s began a series of radio programs, “California Memories” and “Gold Rush Days.” She died in 1946.
