Photograph of a drawing depicting Mexican Americans washing laundry in a stream, ca.1850. A rough-hewn wooden cart is pictured in the foreground at left, dominating much of the image, while in the background right a woman in what appears to be a linen dress is scrubbing clothes against a rock. Other garments are hung on the branches above her. A second individual can be seen on the rocks farther left, looking out towards the cart. Picture file card reads "Contemporaneous sketch".
